Nut Free School

We ask that you do not send nuts or nut products into school for snacks or in packed lunches. We also ask you to be mindful of nut allergies if sending birthday treats in or baking cakes for school in the future. We thank you for your cooperation and support in this matter.

School Lunches

School Lunches are freshly prepared and cooked on the premises by our resident cook Mrs. Stephanie Beal. The lunch menus consist of a hot two-course meal, offering a choice of main courses, vegetables, salads and desserts.

We believe our school meals are excellent value, costing £2.30 per meal, £11.50 per week.

School lunchtime gives children a good opportunity to socialise and enjoy a meal together.

Choosing a school lunch helps children by:

  • Providing a tasty, nutritious and great value for money meal (that meets latest lunch standards).
  • Helping them to concentrate, learn and develop their social skills.
  • Providing a balanced diet and the chance to try new foods.
  • Enjoying their lunch in a safe and supervised environment with their friends.
  • Showing in school what we mean by a healthy and balanced diet.

Paying for School Meals

Pay Online at Parentmail/IRIS
Online payments are preferrable and can be made in advance  by using +Pay on ParentMail – an online payment service which allows you to pay for school items quickly and easily on your smartphone, tablet or computer.

If you have an Android or Apple smartphone, we would highly recommend you download the free ParentMail App so that you can make easy, online payments on the go. To do this, simply search for “ParentMail” in your App store.

Pay by Cheque
All dinner monies should be paid for in advance, online using the Parentmail app. However, if you are unable to make payment by this method we can take cheques which should be clearly marked with the child’s name, amount enclosed and include details of the days payment is for.  Cheques should be made by cheque payable to Suffolk County Council (SCC).

There is no obligation to take a school meal every day and you may still provide a packed lunch for your child if you wish to do so.

Part of every schools funding is based on how many pupils are eligible for free school meals (FSM), regardless of whether they choose to eat a school dinner or bring a packed lunch.  This extra funding can be used to make a real difference within the school and will also mean that you are eligible for help with school uniform and school trips.

If you would like further information on free school meals please contact the school office.
