Hollesley Primary School

We like pupils to wear the Hollesley School colours of a red sweatshirt or cardigan with a white shirt or white polo shirt and grey/black trousers, pinafore or skirt. Red checked dresses may be worn during the summer months.

For P.E. children will need black shorts, a plain white T-shirt, a pair of trainers and a tracksuit for colder weather. A change of footwear is essential so that lessons and playtimes may be taken outside making full use of our excellent grounds. The youngest children find wellies the easiest for changing.

Uniform is available to purchase from My Clothing. My Clothing donate 5% cash donation on all purchases to the school.

We hold a small stock of sweatshirts and cardigans with the school logo and some other items of uniform are also available to buy from the School Office.  Please see the Office for further details and information on prices.  The Friends sell some clothing that children have outgrown. Items of uniform are easily misplaced by children so please ensure that all uniform is marked with your child’s name.

Children are not allowed to wear any jewellery in school for safety reasons. One pair of stud/sleeper earrings only are permitted, and these should be removed for PE lessons, swimming and sports activities both at lunchtime and after-school as serious injury can occur if a child falls on their ear. To avoid confusion, sleeper earrings have a smooth front with unusually short posts and screw on backs.

If a child is unable to remove their earrings for sports activities please ensure that they do not wear them to school on days when they are participating in sports otherwise they will be excluded from these activities.

In exceptional circumstances, for example if a child’s ears have just been pierced, a parent may request that their child is allowed to put tape over the earring providing some protection, however this is not as safe as removing them completely.  If the school is to use tape in such special circumstances, written consent from the parent is required in advance.
